Play Ball!

Posted by Chase on Jul 03 2008 | no comments

So one of my new favorite things is to play ball. I really like to throw the ball straight up in the air and then catch it on the way down! Very fun! I, of course, like to carry my ball and run away from whoever happens to be chasing me (dad, ususally - mom is home base). And I also like to be the chase-er and then I get to tackle daddy when I catch him!

Oh, and another new thing is to stand on my dad’s shoulders while he counts “one, two, threeee!” and I jump off of his shoulders while he holds onto my arms! It’s so cool! He usually takes too long though so I have to start counting without him - “one, two, beeee!” Actually, I’ve really gotten into the habit of counting to three every time I stand on something and want to get down.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot. I love to watch planes go by! They don’t last very long so you have to be quick, but I try to point them out to everyone so they don’t miss ‘em!

It’s the fourth of July this weekend, so hopefully I’ll see some cool fireworks! (it’s raining right now though….) I hope everyone has a great Fourth! Bye for now!

Good Milt

Posted by Chase on Jun 28 2008 | no comments

chase and his \"milt\"

Yeah, that Milt stuff is good! I especially like the thick “greek” kind with honey in it. Yum! And as you can see from this photo, it’s serious business. I know, I know, some of you call it “yo-gert” but I keep telling mom and dad, it’s pronounced, “Milt”. I still don’t think I’ve gotten through to them though - not for lack of trying, but you know how you have to train these parents! (they’re not too bright, but I still love ‘em!)

OK, gotta go clean up.

Oh, the places I’ll go…

Posted by Chase on Jun 06 2008 | no comments

So, you know me- I am an outdoor-sie kind-a-guy. But, this week we have been drenched with rain. Luckily, there are still really cool places to go on such days. There is this sweet place called “Jump Planet.” It is filled with these big, balloon, building type things- that I can run and jump on. It even has a slide that is taller than our house! And, this is cool because Mom would never let me slide off of the house. Dad might, but he knows that Mom would get mad. But, not here- Mom and I went down the slide together, about ten times! Woohoo!

I, also, have a pass to the “Imagine Children’s Museum.” I love this place. There is a whole little town inside, filled with fun things for me to do. There is a ferryboat with fun water activities, a theatre with a stage, and lights and sounds, for me to control. It has a pet clinic, so that I can learn how to take care of animals. Also, it has a farm- with a cow and a tractor! BUt, the absolute coolest part of this museum is on the roof, they have a DINOSAUR DIG! You may not know what a dinosaur is, you see dinosaurs are extinct, which just means that they are all dead and have been for a really long time. But, their bones remain buried in places where people are still finding them!~ And, I got to dig some up! I know!

Here are some pictures of me outside on glorious, sunny days (my favorite kind). My “good chum,” Zoe is in some these pictures, too. She is my neighbor, and comes to play with me quite a bit. We have lots of fun together. She is helping me learn to ride my bike, and she lets me ride her cool scooter! (Well, she lets me push it around my yard. Whatever…)

So, now you can see all of the cool stuff I do… I know you all just think I go to the park and play with trucks all day long. But, I am a very complex individual. I have so much more to tell you about, so stay tuned…

That’s a wrap for today!

Cause & Effect

Posted by Chase on Jun 03 2008 | no comments

Mom and Dad can be so uptight. I mean, we’re having a nice dinner and the next thing I know- they are stripping me down in the kitchen and throwing me in the tub! Outrageous! I still love em’!

Vacation.

Posted by Chase on Jun 01 2008 | no comments

I wanted to post some pictures of my trip to visit my grandparents. I would have done it sooner, but after a long trip, I am beat! (Or as Mom and Dad so rudely put it, I am a beast!) It takes me about a week to recover. So, things are getting back to normal.

I had a great time! We went to see Grandma & Grandpa Beauchemin.

I love this car! And Grandpa let me drive it all of the time! He even let me drive his big, fancy truck! And, he let me walk across the beautiful, limited edition leather interior! I must say, I felt pretty special. Grandpa and I had so much fun playing together. It loved being with him! So much so, that I would try to go to bed with him and cry when he had to leave the house.

There was so much to do! Grandma Lisa made sure there were toys and snacks around for me. Those are two of my favorite things. She really did a great job making us feel at home and making sure that we had everything we needed. She read books to me, and even danced with me! I really enjoyed all of the special time that we spent together.

It was a nice, relaxing time. We played ball and we danced and we read. One day we went to the park. Everyone went down the slide! Grandma, Grandpa and Mom! I didn’t even know that they let adults on the slide. Either they were breaking the rules or they are just super fun! Maybe a little bit of both, Mom did say Grandpa was a trouble maker.

One day Grandpa took me to the big Tractor Factory. I went nuts! I ran from tractor to tractor, Grandpa would lift me up, I would steer for a couple seconds then say “down,” And he would pull me down and I would run to the next tractor. I was on overload. I don’t remember too much- it all just happened so fast!

During our trip Mom and I drove to California to see Grandma & Grandpa Fossey and Aunt Jessie. We had a very nice visit, though it was a little short. But, I am still glad that I got to see them. We went to the park, and played. Grandma got a bubble machine just for me. It can actually blow 1000 bubbles in 1 minute! I know! Also, they share all of their snacks with me. Aunt Jessie gave me her ice cream, Grandpa gave me his Oreo’s! They are so good to me, and I love them all very much.

On our last day in Arizona, Mom & I went to visit our good friend, Toni. This was the first time I had met her, she was so nice! She gave me a really cool truck! Mom was so wrapped up in conversation, that she forgot to take a picture of us together. (Mom is a talker! She does this from time to time.) Next time we will remember to do that! It was so nice to see her.

Well, I better get to bed! It is 8:01, and I can hear Mom & Dad heading down the hall to get me. But, I want to thank all of my grandparents for making this trip so special. I am very lucky to have all of you in my life! I love you all very much! (You too, Jessie!)

Reflections…

Posted by Chase on May 13 2008 | no comments

Well, it has been a good year. It is bitter-sweet, my school year is coming to an end. I only have 1 class left. (Mommy and I are skipping school next week to go on vacation.)

I have enjoyed my time with my teacher and my friends. I have learned so many things in my new school… I have learned to wash my hands when I come in from outside and before I eat…I have learned to take turns… also, I now enjoy participating in group activities- such as dance and music time. And, after much practice, I know the proper etiquette required when going down a slide.

My school is a really special place. It is almost like they made a place where some one small, like me, can fit in. In adult places people are always trying to control you- “use your indoor voice,” “sit down,” “don’t bang your toys on the wall,” “please, stop mashing food into the carpet.” One thing after the other. I mean, their expectations are not practical. But, at school- I feel like I can be myself. And I have to tell you, I am always using my indoor voice- You adults may not like it- but it is what it is!

I will miss my school this summer. I am going to miss snack time and the trucks in the Rainbow Room. I am going to miss Teacher Kelly’s smile. She is always happy and she is really good at playing. When she talks to me I feel respected and important. She makes me feel special. Mom and I both feel very lucky to have had such a great, first experience at my school. We are looking forward to the next 3 years at Crystal Springs!

On an up note- my friends and I are still going to get together every week, this summer! Yay! (I guess they all really like school too!) And, next year- there will be twice as many students in my class, so I will have even more friends! It is all too much!

Anyways… here are some pictures of my time at school!

I want to ride my tricycle…

Posted by Chase on May 04 2008 | 1 comment

I got a trike! Mom said she found it at a garage sale at my school. (I don’t really get that since they don’t even HAVE a garage at school but whatever…)

I still don’t know how to pedal it and I’m still not really sure about the whole thing, but so far so good. I really like it when I just sit on the seat and someone pushes me! Wheeee! It even has a little bell I can ring when I’m sitting on it.

On a side note, I can now officially drink from a cup all by myself. Not a bottle, or a sippy cup (although I’m still know to use those on occasion…. ok, every day…) but a real big-kid cup! Mind you Mom and Dad won’t fill it up with more than about a half-inch full, and nothing but water, but still! I’m a drinking machine! I barely even spill!

Okay, that’s it for now. Talk to you later.

Absolutely Not.

So I have this thing that I like to do. I get one of my cars (my Escalade, specifically) and I climb up on top of it and stand. It’s really fun to balance on top and watch mom’s expression! Today, I was having fun balancing on my car but I really wanted to get higher up. So I took the car and put it on the coffee table. Then I climbed up on the table and from there, I started to climb onto the car when what happens? Mom. That’s what happens. She snatched me up and said those horrible words, “CHASE, NO!”

Really, I don’t see what the big deal is. I stand on top of my slide all the time when Mom and Dad aren’t looking.

Aloha!

Posted by Chase on Apr 08 2008 | no comments

That’s how they say hello in Hawaii. And goodbye. Never got used to that, but either way - I just got back from HAWAII!! I went with a big crew - Mom, Dad, Granny, Papa, Aunt Joan, Uncle Curt, Emma and Claire. The plane ride over got a little long, but once we got there it was neat!

I got to hang out at this HUGE sandbox that everyone called, “the beach”. It was fun throwing sand everywhere, but mommy didn’t think it was very funny when I threw sand on her….

We also stayed in a neat room - the best part was our room connected with Granny and Papa’s room so I could go over there whenever I wanted to! And I did a lot. Plus there was lots of cool things to play with in the room - tables to climb on, things to push around, buttons to push and a huge bathtub to play in with mom!

We played in the pool almost every day too. Nice and refreshing. Actually, a bit on the cool side for my tastes, but beggars can’t be choosers. (I don’t really know what that means, but I think it fits here)

Oh yeah, and we ate lots of good food! I got to eat something called, “calamari” that was really yummy. And of course I had my fill of steak and hamburgers and chicken - some of my faves.

One day we went into this little town and walked around and looked at some different shops and things. I got really hot that day. I got what they call a “heat rash” which made my skin all red! That didn’t bother me so much, but I ended up getting really tired and sick that night. Ug. I was really hot and Mom and Dad kept putting these wet towels on my forehead and neck! But I got better the next day and all was well. (except then Dad got sick, but he’s fine now).

As a side note, I learned how to say, “Hawaii” and “Joan” on the trip (aunt Joan kept pestering me so I finally said her name just so I could have some peace and quiet!) So I can now say a bunch of words - “Hawaii. No. Fan. Momma. Da. Papa. Joan. Moon. Fish. Up. Ring. Bubble. Bus. Bye. Done. and of course, my favorite, Wheel” and my favorite, “baba” which stands for anything Dad’s trying to get me to say that I just don’t feel like saying. There are others but I just can’t think of them now.
